Nightcap is a slow sipping liquid of indulgence. Plant-forward delivering decadent, woody, and bright flavors.

Three Spirit can’t be defined by taste & smell alone, it’s a feeling. Nightcap transports you to a calming state of mind through ingredients like lemon balm, valerian, hops, and ashwagandha. Close off any night with this botanical non-alc remedy.

What does it taste like?

It gives me a nice, warm buzz before bed. I think I sleep better.

Spicy and strong

I enjoyed this better than the Livener- stronger flavors and lots of spice. Has a vinegary taste too so it is almost like a Kombucha. Not sure I'd order again when a cup of homemade ginger, cinnamon, and peppercorn tea can have the same warming effect.

This was wonderful as a nightcap. I didn’t get sleepy from it but it is a very warm soothing flavor. Enjoyed it both neat and on the rocks. Haven’t tried mixing it.

Nose: Raisin, pineapple, cardamom, ginger, even a bit of black tea and definitely some spiciness there. Part of me conjures a bit of bruised plum in this, which maybe taints the smell just a bit.
Taste: Comes in sweet and tart and some of the maple syrup starts to shine through with a nicely citrus taste on the tongue, and the cardamom and spices come up through the nose to really round out the flavor. Swallowing then produces a lingering peppery/gingery hit to the tongue and throat, but not in a capsicum way, like a strong ginger despite not being strongly ginger in flavor, and a hint of clove lingers on the tongue, even a hint of coffee to it. It's very difficult to describe. Perhaps even a bit of a fooler for alcohol, with the heat not happening at all until the end and lingering just a bit longer than it would, but that is not a bad thing here. That heat doesn't go down to the belly the way an alcoholic nightcap would, but that's not necessarily a bad thing, either. There is a bit of deeper throat heat but that could be more of the acidity, in some ways, which detracts a little from this as a true nightcap since it may be a bit like heartburn for those who may suffer from that in the evenings after imbibing too much or something too acidic.

Neat, a bit cooler than room temperature (cellar temperature, like a German beer would be served) it's maybe a bit too thick and syrupy but still not bad. Using their preferred recommendation over ice thins it out just enough and adds complexity, I feel, in that the cold seems to almost separate the flavors some as it goes from fruit and a bit sweet forward to quickly changing character as it warms a bit in the mouth and what's left after swallowing warms and linger layering in ever more flavors. This is quite complex in character, in my opinion, but in a really good way. My favorite way is in a caffeine free tea (chamomile does nicely) with just a bit of honey and about 1 1/2oz of Nightcap. So good and really lets it live up to the name as a drink to savor and enjoy before bedtime.

Just okay

I recently bought several items to try. This was the only "wine" type. I found this to be very, very spicy tasting. It was like it was laced with pepper (I found this to be true with several items, it is like they are trying to replace the "burn" of alcohol with pepper). More like spiced tea or cider. So not smooth or silky like wine at all. That being said I also did not find it very medicinal. The flavor was just okay. But all in all too jarring and spicy to be soothing. It did not make me relaxed or sleepy at all. I have put this in my other reviews but I also find the price point on these items way too high. I mean I can buy at least two bottles of pretty decent wine for this price. You can also just buy Valerian at a fraction of the price. Where is the justification for the pricing? I paid it once to try and see but in my opinion totally not worth it.
