The Margarita is a true Mexican classic and one of the most popular cocktails in North America today. The combination of non-alcoholic tequila, freshly squeezed citrus, and agave syrup creates a delicious and healthy alternative to this beloved cocktail. Enjoy the non-alcoholic Margarita without sacrificing the quality of taste, experience or excitement. You’ll only need a few ingredients to whip up a great Virgin Margarita.

Ingredients for the best non-alcoholic margarita

For your simple and elevated non-alcoholic margarita, you will need:

  • 2 oz Ritual Zero Proof Tequila or one of our favorite non-alcoholic tequila
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 1 oz fresh orange juice or 1 oz of a citrus non-alcoholic spirit like Lyre’s Orange Sec or Seedlip Grove 42
  • 1 bar spoon Agave Syrup
  • Kosher Salt for rimming the glass
  • Lime wedges, for garnish
  • Ice cubes for shaking and mixing the non-alcoholic margarita together

How do you make a Virgin Margarita?

The process to make a non-alcoholic Margarita is really simple, follow the steps below:

    1. Salt the rim. Use a rocks glass or classic margarita coupe glass. You’ll need two shallow dishes, one filled with fresh lime juice or agave syrup and the other with kosher salt which works great since it is coarser than regular salt. Dip and swirl the rim of your glass in the lime juice (or agave) and then afterward dip and swirl the rim in the salt. Set aside your cup while you make your easy mocktail.

    2. Combine the Ritual Zero Proof Tequila (or other non-alcoholic tequila), fresh lime juice, fresh orange juice (or citrus non-alcoholic spirit) and agave syrup in a shaker. Shake first very aggressively without ice. Shake again very briefly but this time with added ice. This is an important step that will lead to much less dilution in your non-alcoholic margarita.

    3. Fill your salted rim glass with ice and pour & strain the contents from your shaker into the glass.

    4. Garnish with a wedge of lime and serve right away.

    5. Enjoy your delicious non-alcoholic margarita mocktail made with Ritual Zero Proof Tequila.

If you want to level up your non-alcoholic Margarita we highly recommend adding All the Bitter’s non-alcoholic orange bitters to the mix before shaking. Three droppers full of these non-alcoholic bitters will add a lot of complexities. If you’d like a bit of bubbles feel free to top up with a splash of tonic water or club soda.

    • Ritual Zero Proof Tequila Alternative: This crowd-pleasing and fan-favorite tequila alternative is spicy & fruity with a smooth and slightly sweet finish. It works fantastic in Margaritas but also in many other non-alcoholic cocktails such as a Paloma. This tequila brings the heat & flavors you’ve come to expect from traditional Tequila.

    • Spiritless Jalisco 55: Jalisco 55 closely mimics the taste of traditional Tequila with its zesty citrus aromas, fresh sweet mint, and a hint of cinnamon spice. This non-alcoholic Tequila is reminiscent of a herbaceous reposado-style spirit with a peppery kick on the end.

If you have it available or can make it replace the agave syrup with strawberry simple syrup.

      • Spicy Mango Margarita: In Step 2, add 1 oz of mango juice to the shaker instead of orange juice. Also, add in two muddled coins (slices) of fresh jalapeño when mixing the cocktail in your shaker.
