- 1 oz fresh orange juice or 1 oz of a citrus non-alcoholic spirit like Lyre’s Orange Sec or Seedlip Grove 42

- Ice cubes for shaking and mixing the non-alcoholic margarita together
How do you make a Virgin Margarita?
The process to make a non-alcoholic Margarita is really simple, follow the steps below:
Salt the rim. Use a rocks glass or classic margarita coupe glass. You’ll need two shallow dishes, one filled with fresh lime juice or agave syrup and the other with kosher salt which works great since it is coarser than regular salt. Dip and swirl the rim of your glass in the lime juice (or agave) and then afterward dip and swirl the rim in the salt. Set aside your cup while you make your easy mocktail.
Combine the Ritual Zero Proof Tequila (or other non-alcoholic tequila), fresh lime juice, fresh orange juice (or citrus non-alcoholic spirit) and agave syrup in a shaker. Shake first very aggressively without ice. Shake again very briefly but this time with added ice. This is an important step that will lead to much less dilution in your non-alcoholic margarita.
Fill your salted rim glass with ice and pour & strain the contents from your shaker into the glass.
Garnish with a wedge of lime and serve right away.

If you want to level up your non-alcoholic Margarita we highly recommend adding All the Bitter’s non-alcoholic orange bitters to the mix before shaking. Three droppers full of these non-alcoholic bitters will add a lot of complexities. If you’d like a bit of bubbles feel free to top up with a splash of tonic water or club soda.

How to choose Non-Alcoholic Tequila for a Virgin Margarita?
Choosing the right non-alcoholic tequila for your virgin margarita can be a bit of a challenge considering the variety of different brands and options available. Here are the top brands to consider:
Ritual Zero Proof Tequila Alternative: This crowd-pleasing and fan-favorite tequila alternative is spicy & fruity with a smooth and slightly sweet finish. It works fantastic in Margaritas but also in many other non-alcoholic cocktails such as a Paloma. This tequila brings the heat & flavors you’ve come to expect from traditional Tequila.
- Spiritless Jalisco 55: Jalisco 55 closely mimics the taste of traditional Tequila with its zesty citrus aromas, fresh sweet mint, and a hint of cinnamon spice. This non-alcoholic Tequila is reminiscent of a herbaceous reposado-style spirit with a peppery kick on the end.
Sobrii 0-Tequila: This non-traditional non-alcoholic Tequila is inspired by the agave distilleries of Mexico but provides its own unique flavor experience. Expect spicy jalapeno, hot black pepper, ginseng and coriander in this spirit and bring your mocktails to another level.
Lyre's Agave Blanco: This top-notch tequila alternative is made with all-natural flavors and botanicals, and has a rich, smoky flavor that works well in a virgin margarita. It is one of our personal favorites and will suit you if you are seeking to make the best non-alcoholic margarita.

Virgin Strawberry Margarita: Instead of orange juice or a citrus non-alcoholic spirit you’ll need 3 muddled strawberries and 2 oz of Everleaf Mountain. Add these ingredients to your mix when shaking and switch out the lime garnish for a strawberry slice instead. If you have it available or can make it replace the agave syrup with strawberry simple syrup.
Spicy Mango Margarita: In Step 2, add 1 oz of mango juice to the shaker instead of orange juice. Also, add in two muddled coins (slices) of fresh jalapeño when mixing the cocktail in your shaker.
Virgin Frozen Margarita: Add an extra oz of non-alcoholic tequila and blend all of the ingredients in a blender with 2 cups of ice. Blend until you’ve got a slushy non-alcoholic margarita perfect for hot summer days!
