Sobrii 0-Tequila - Non-Alcoholic Tequila

Unit price per
Inspired by the agave distilleries of Mexico, this non-alc spirit hits the spot for tequila and mezcal lovers.

Sobrii was recently featured on the Dragon's Den (Canada's version of Shark Tank) and for good reason. This non-alcoholic tequila brings the flavor & heat by infusing agave with spicy jalapeno, hot black pepper, coriander and Canadian ginseng.

What does it taste like?
  • Nose: fresh jalapeno vegetable and spice, citrus, and subtle rosehip
  • Palate: agave and fresh jalapeno carries strong through to the flavor accompanied by earthiness and a warm spice of black pepper, ginger root and sweet citrus
No & Low Recommendations
  • It would be silly to recommend anything other than a delicious non-alcoholic Margarita or Paloma.
  • Once opened drink within 3 months. Does not need to be refrigerated but should be stored in a cool place out of direct sunlight.

Nothing Like Tequila

This is a difficult review to write being that I do not have much experience with non alcoholic spirit alternatives.
To start, I did NOT expect this to taste like tequila. (So I did not have that high an expectation).
Reading the description though I would say this tastes and smells nothing close to how it’s described.
It smells exactly like sticking your nose in a jar of honey. So much so that smelling this and honey side by side were indistinguishable. Taking a sample taste it does not taste like it smells. It tastes like watery citric acid. Now, I did try making a cocktail with half mezcal half Sobrii (to cut the ABV in half). For me it was a no go. Tastes nothing like tequila, and of course has no “bite”.

Now, I am open to trying other zero ABV products because I do want to enjoy cocktails and consume less alcohol. But maybe there are some better ones out there….
